Alexander Zhukov: ‘The Executive Committee adopted a decision on Russia’s participation in the 2018 Olympic Games’

President of the ROC told journalists about the results of today’s ROC Executive Committee meeting.

‘The main decision adopted today was the one about the participation of our team in the  2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. We received the invitation from the IOC to take part in the Games. And today with the consent of the members of the Executive Committee, I signed a letter to the IOC, saying  that we were pleased to accept the invitation.

In addition, we approved  extended  lists of candidates for the Olympic team to participate in the 2018 Games. And First vice-president of the ROC Stanislav Pozdnyakov was elected as Head of the Olympic delegation.

Our specialists continue searching for best options for the final stage of preparations for the Games in Pyeongchang. There are good bases  in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. All recommendations on them will be transferred to the federation’, said the head of the ROC.
