Victor Kudryavtsev turns 80!

Honored coach of the USSR, consultant of the Russian national figure skating team Viktor Kudryavtsev celebrates his birthday. He turned 80!

Victor Kudryavtsev prepared a whole galaxy of great skaters. First coaching triumph came in 1975, when his student Sergei Volkov became the first Soviet world champion in men’s single figure skating. Kudryavtseva’s wards, including Maria Butyrskaya, Kira Ivanova, Ilia Kulik and other famous athletes won a total of 108 medals at the national, European and the world Championships!

Although the main specialization of the coach is male and female single skating, he has experience with skating pairs as well. His pair Lyudmila Smirnova and Andrei Suraikin at the Olympic Games 1972 in Sapporo became silver medalists.
