Olympic Champions at the Open Day at the Higher School of Policy in Culture and Administration in Humanities, MSU
On 8 October, the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Higher School of Policy in Culture and Administration in Humanities (MSU Faculty) held an Open Day for schoolchildren and their parents.
The event was attended by Olympic Champions Elena Zamolodchikova (Gymnastics), Alexander Lesun (Modern Pentathlon) and Vlada Chigiryova (Synchronized Swimming). Famous athletes informally told the students about their University studies, sporting career and achievements in both. They also answered questions.
– The Olympians, invited to the Open Day, know firsthand about our school, – said Elena Khalipova, the Dean of the Higher School of Policy in Cultur and Administration in Humanities, in an interview with the ROC Information Service. Lena Zamolodchikova has completed a master’s degree with honors and is now attending the Graduate School. Alexander Lesun is a final-year master’s degree student and Vlada Chigireva, on the contrary, became a student recently. They are not only brilliant athletes, but also the diligent students we are proud of. I think that for the younger generation their sports life and academic achievements are a great example to follow. Moreover, among our students there are many young people who are also into professional sports. I think that is was particularly interesting for them to meet and talk with Olympic Champions.
– Frankly speaking, it was my dream to study at the MSU, – admitted Alexander Lesun. – I knew such famous athletes as Alla Shishkina, Alexandra Patskevich, Svetlana Romashina and Sophya Velikaya graduated from the Higher School of Policy in Culture and Administration in Humanities with a degree in Sports Management. They told me about a very positive atmosphere, many interesting lecturers, creative way of teaching. And it’s true! It’s almost a pity that my education at the faculty is about to end…
– I am very glad that I was able to enter the Higher School of Policy in Culture and Administration in Humanities, – said Vlada Chigiryova. After a long way in sport, I felt that I lacked theoretical knowledge in the field of sports management. Here I get it in every lesson!
