The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a two-day seminar Communications and Marketing in Sports Organizations. New Trends in Sports Journalism. The event was attended by representatives of the ROC, Russian sports journalists and TV commentators, who, among other things, provided coverage of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
A large-scale seminar, consisting of a number of thematic sections, panel discussions and master classes for representatives of national media, press services of sports organizations and federations, students of the Faculties of Journalism of Universities of Kazakhstan, marketers and the media community was held in this format for the first time.
The organizers managed to create a unique platform for the exchange of experience between the colleagues from Kazakhstan and Russia, discussion of topical issues of the Olympic and sports movement and, most importantly, finding practical solutions for further cooperation in the field of PR, marketing and communications, as well as cooperation in the implementation of joint projects in the field of popularization and promotion of Olympic values.
The seminar aroused great interest among the target audience. The speeches were given by the Head of ROC Marketing department, Dmitry Manevich, Head of the ROC Information Service, Konstantin Vybornov, famous Russian reporters and commentators Elena Vaitsekhovskaya, Yuri Rozanov, Igor Rabiner, Alexander Kuzmak, Alexander Belenky, 2-time Olympic champion in Biathlon Dmitry Vasilyev.
The main topics of communication were sports marketing in modern conditions, communication of press services of sports organizations with the media, especially the interaction with the media environment within the major sports competitions, the development of national sports and the formation of sports motivation in society through the media.
At the end of the event, the participants tentatively agreed to hold similar seminars in the future with the participation of representatives of various NOCs, leading experts in the field of marketing and communication, and media representatives on an annual basis.
