The results of the ROC Executive Committee

A meeting of the ROC Executive Committee was held today at the Russian Olympic Committee. Participants adopted the principles to establish the Russian Olympic team for the Buenos Aires (Argentina) 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games and the XXIII Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, and also endorsed the concept of the Program facilitate the training of candidates for the Russian Olympic team and participation of the Olympic delegation of the Russian Federation in the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Before the meeting, ROC President Alexander Zhukov gave the group of specialists state awards ‘For successful preparation of athletes who have achieved high sporting results at the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), 2016’.

Head coach of the Russian national women’s Handball team Evgenie Trefilov was awarded the Order of Friendship, and the senior coach of Russian national Boxing team Oleg Menshikov received the medal For merits before Fatherland of I degree.

Medals of the Order For merits before Fatherland of II degree were awarded to the President of the Russian Synchronized Swimming, Water Polo and Diving federations Alexey Vlasenko, fencing coach of the St. Petersburg specialized children and youth school of Olympic reserve Natalia Dyachenko, head coach of the Russian national Modern Pentathlon team Andrey Moiseev, coach of the specialized children and youth Wrestling school of Olympic reserve of the Republic of Dagestan Shamil Omarov, coach at the Novosibirsk Fencing training centre Egor Yuzhakov.

Head coach of Russian national  Water Polo team Alexander Gaidukov, coach of the  Moscow specialized school of Olympic reserve “Nord” Alexei Khaplanov and the analyst of the Center for sport’s preparation of national teams of Russia Evgeny Sharonov received Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Director General on Sport of the ROC Igor Kazikov told about the results of Russian team’s performance at the 2017 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival held in Győr, Hungary. Recall that our team has set the new record for number of medals (61), and as for number of gold awards (30) we repeated the best result, shown a the EYOF-2013 in the Dutch Utrecht.

Diplomas of the Russian Olympic Committee were awarded to the most distinguished presidents of sports federations: Vladimir Salnikov (Swimming), Vasily Anisimov (Judo), Vasily Titov (Gymnastics), Shamil Tarpischev (Tennis), Viatcheslav Ekimov (Cycling), Evgeniy Arkhipov (Rowing and Canoeing), Stanislav Shevchenko (Volleyball) and Andrey Alexeev – Archpriest, the priest of the Russian Olympic team at the XIV EYOF in Gyor.

Members of the ROC Executive Committee approved the procedure and principles to establish the Russian Olympic team for the Buenos Aires (Argentina) 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games and the XXIII Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018.

Additionally, was endorsed the concept of the Program to facilitate preparation  of candidates for the Russian Olympic team and participation of the Olympic delegation of the Russian Federation in the games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo (Japan).

In conclusion, the President of the ROC Alexander Zhukov told the members of the Executive Committee of the most important decisions made at the 130th IOC Session in Lausanne.
