Yuri Borzakovskiy: “Now we can work with faith in the future”

Yuri Borzakovskiy has been approved as Head Coach of the Russian national team. He told about it in his interview to the Russian Olympic Committee Information Service.

“Now we can work with faith in the future”, – he noted.

In February, Yuri Borzakovskiy was appointed acting Head Coach of the Russian national team. Under his leadership, the team has won six gold and two silver medals in the European Indoor Championships, held in Prague (Czech Republic), in March.

Yuri Borzakovskiy considers his main goal as Head Coach is to prepare the team for the next tournaments – the European Team Championships (Cheboksary), the World Championships (Beijing) and the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Speaking about the workflow innovations, Head Coach of the Russian national team said that he was implementing a reporting system.

“Discipline in the team will be more severe, – he said. – Athletes and coaches will prepare monthly progress reports and send them to me personally”.

It should be added that in January Valentin Maslakov resigned as Head Coach and Yuri Borzakovskiy took over his post.
