Thomas Bach thanked the ROC for the excellent organization of the X World Conference on Sport and the Environment

On Sunday, November 3, Thomas Bach, the IOC President, brought together leaders of the Olympic Movement at the Olympic Summit in Lausanne (Switzerland) to discuss the most topical issues in the field of sports.

At the beginning of the session, Mr. Bach thanked the Russian Olympic Committee represented by Alexander Zhukov, the ROC President, and the Organizing Committee “Sochi-2014” for the excellent organization of the X World Conference on Sport and the Environment, held at the end of October, and his visit to Sochi related to this event.

Alexander Zhukov, the ROC President, took part in discussions on the following topics: The fight against doping, Sports Calendar and Autonomy in sports.

The significance of this event cannot be overestimated because of the relevance of the topics discussed and the list of participants, representing the “high society” of the Olympic movement.
