The first Research and Practice Seminar held at the ROC has come to an end

On Friday, as well as the day before, three special projects of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) were brought to the attention of those present at the Research and Practice Seminar – the specialists of the sports federations, the coaches and the representatives of the sports science and medicine. Two of the project reports were presented in front of Aleksandr Zhukov, who visited the Seminar together with the members of the ROC Executive Committee.

  • The first day of the  Research and Practice Seminar based on the experimental results of the special projects, held at the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), has come to an end. The programs, launched three years ago, were presented to the public. According to Aleksandr Grushin, the Head of the ROC Department for methodological support of the sports training and the curator of the Seminar, they must contribute to the performance of our athletes at the Olympic Games in Sochi.

On Thursday, October 24, a Research and Practice Seminar based on the experimental results of the ROC special projects  was started at the ROC. Vladimir Sengleev, the Executive Director of the ROC gave an opening speech. The Seminar will last for two days. During these days six projects of the Russian Olympic Committee will be presented.

Nina Ponomaryova, the first Olympic champion in the history of the USSR, gave an open lesson at the Moscow school

On Monday Nina Ponomaryova, a legendary Soviet/Russian discus thrower and a World Record Holder visited the students of  Moscow school No. 1454. In 1952, at the Helsinki Olympic Games Nina Ponomaryova became an Olympic Champion, setting a New Olympic Record and earning the first Olympic gold medal in the history of the USSR.

Russian Olympic Committee and Aeroflot sign deal for delivery of Russian Olympic delegation to Sochi

On Wednesday, October 9, President of the Russian Olympic Committee Aleksander Zhukov and OJSC Aeroflot – Russian Airlines Director General Vitaly Savelyev signed an agreement for the delivery of the Russian official delegation to the XXII Winter Olympics. Under this agreement over 800 athletes, members of the official delegation and luggage will be brought to the Olympic Capital using Aeroflot flights.

A final match of the IV International Parliamentary Games took place in Moscow

On Sunday, September 22, a friendly football match between the Russian parliamentarians and the parliamentarians of the rest of the world took place. It was the culmination of the IV International Parliamentary Games, which started on September 20. This year the Parliamentary Games were held in the framework of the 20th anniversary of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

On  Thursday, September 20, a scheduled meeting of the Ethics Commission was held in the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). It was held under the chairmanship of Svetlana Zhurova, State Duma Deputy and Olympic Champion. The high performance sport ethics specialists from the coaching councils of the all-Russian sports federations completed questionnaires. The results of these questionnaires were presented to the members of the Commission.
