Today the heroes of the final stage of the 2nd European Games returned to Moscow. In terminal F of Sheremetyevo, where the Aeroflot flight landed from Minsk, members of the shooting, gymnastics, Greco-Roman wrestling, karate and track cycling teams were met with a festive ceremony celebrating their Olympic victories.
The Russian International Olympic University and the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. RIOU Rector, Academician Lev Belousov and Acting First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko took part in the official ceremony at the House of Fans of the Russian Olympic team.

During the European Fencing Championship in Düsseldorf, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee and the European Fencing Confederation, four-time Olympic champion, received an honorary award from the International Fair Play Committee. Holding the antique saber in his hands, the President of the ROC made a fencing salute to the organisers and spectators gathered in the stands.
On June 3, the flagship ZASPORT store on Novy Arbat, 26 opened the outfit centre for athletes and members of the delegation, who will participate in the 2nd European Games. Competitions will be held in Minsk from 21 to 30 June.
The IOC Executive Board has recommended that boxing should be kept on the programme of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but proposed to suspend the membership of the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA). These IOC decisions will be discussed at the organisation’s Session in Lausanne, which will be held from 24 to 26 June.

From 19 to 21 May, the Forum of the National Olympic Committees of Central and South-Eastern Europe was held in Sopot, Poland. Along with the permanent members of the association, the leaders of the NOCs of Russia and Spain took part in the event as observers.
Deputy Secretary General — head of the ROC International Relations Department Yuri Yuriev has been included in the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees. This decision was taken at today’s meeting of the EOC governing body in Vienna. The candidacy of the representative of the ROC was supported by all members of the Executive Committee of the organisation.
As part of the 9th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPBILF), the ROC President spoke at the discussion session “Development of UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sport: Current Challenges and Prospects”, during which the participants discussed further steps in the anti-doping sphere in order to ensure fair and transparent rules of interaction between states and representatives of the international Olympic movement in countering the use of prohibited substances.
Within the framework of the implementation of Agenda 2020, IOC President Thomas Bach introduced changes to the composition of the main Commissions of the International Olympic Committee. By the decision of the IOC head, ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov was included in the Olympic Programme Commission (it considers including or excluding certain sports from the programme of the upcoming Games), and head of the ROC President’s Office Rodion Plitukhin became a member of the Sport and Active Society Commission.
From 21 to 30 June the capital of Belarus will host the 2nd European Games – one of the main integrated sports events of the upcoming summer. And Team Russia’s House of Fans will be set up in Minsk!
