The event was attended by Secretary General of the Russian Olympic Committee Mr. Rodion Plitukhin, his colleagues from Eswatini, Namibia, Gambia and Mali, as well as heads of delegations from Armenia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Syria and Laos.
Young athletes from 9 countries and 27 regions of the Russian Federation laid red carnations to the foot of one of the main symbols of the victory over fascism.
Rodion Plitukhin, the ROC Secretary General:
– The cultural program of the Young Olympians International Forum is an organic continuation of the yesterday’s business and sporting agenda of the event. Yesterday we were telling children about the true Olympic values – friendship, respect for the opponent, pursuit of excellence, fair play and value of the victory gained without any cheating.
And today, the participants of the Forum have had an excursion to the Victory Museum where they could clearly see what had been happening in the world at the time when these values had been forgotten or attempts had been made to replace them. And the price at which our people managed to save mankind from the fascist plague.
The Young Olympians International Forum has an important humanitarian mission. All of our events are ultimately aimed at helping young people to understand that sport helps make our imperfect world a better place.
…Apart from visiting the Victory Park, the young Olympians visited the Red Square today and took part in the Fort Boyard game show in Luzhniki Olympic Complex.
