    – First of all, I would like to congratulate the Olympic community on the successful staging of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Now we are preparing for the Winter Games in Beijing which will start in four months. I am sure that the experience gained will allow us to hold these competitions at the highest level, despite the global pandemic, – stated Stanislav Pozdnyakov.

The Commission members were presented with the results of the questionnaire survey of the National Olympic Committees on their participation in ANOC scholarship programs. Based on the results of the survey, a list of recommendations will be formed that will allow new participants to be involved in projects being implemented by ANOC.

In addition, it was decided to organize a webinar for ANOC fellows and start work on creating a community of alumni-fellows. This will not only allow young specialists from different countries to exchange experience, but will also promote the possibilities of ANOC scholarship programs within the sports community.

Online projects dedicated to Olympic education and culture became a separate topic for discussion.

    – We live in a unique time when the Summer and Winter Games are only a few months apart. Thanks to this, the attention of the whole world is now drawn to the Olympic movement. We need to make the most of the current situation in order to more effectively promote Olympic values, education and culture throughout the world, – said the head of the ROC.

Ekaterina Gorokhova, leading specialist of the International Relations Department of the ROC, presented an overview of online projects implemented by the National Olympic Committees of Europe. Particular attention was paid to the recent Olympic lesson for students of Moscow’s schools, which was organized within the framework of the Olympic Patrol sports and educational project.

The members of the Commission, including ANOC Secretary General, IOC member Gunilla Lindberg, noted the importance of covering such initiatives. In their opinion, this will allow the National Olympic Committees to share experiences and inspire each other to implement new projects in the field of Olympic education and culture.

As a reminder, on October 24-25, within the framework of the ANOC General Assembly on the Greek island of Crete, Stanislav Pozdnyakov will make a presentation dedicated to the activities of the ANOC Culture and Education Commission for the reporting period
