On June 1, at the opening ceremony of the Young Olympians International Forum, the solemn awarding of the winner of the online competition of children’s drawings on the topic “Sport and Friendship” was held.
Young artists of 3 to 14 years old from 70 cities and towns of the country took part in it. The ROC Athletes’ Commission chose Evgenia Derdey from Vladivostok as the winner. She was awarded by the three-time Olympic Champion in synchronized swimming Alla Shishkina:
– The idea to organize the competition appeared in the international department of the Russian Olympic Committee, where I am currently undergoing an internship. More than 200 works from all regions of the country participated in it. We sincerely congratulate Zhenya, well done!
In response, Evgenia told what inspired her to the drawing:
– I decided to unite summer and winter sports under one planet, so that they all are located side by side together. I was very inspired by the necklace that was presented to the skaters, so I put these wreaths near the Olympic rings. I would like to thank the Russian Olympic Committee for the opportunity to come and participate in the Forum.
The Young Olympians International Forum takes place in Moscow on 1 and 2 June and brought together about two hundred athletes aged 14-17 from 9 countries and 27 regions of Russia.
