Russian Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation made a joint statement regarding current situation surrounding the All-Russian Athletics Federation (RusAF).
Today the heroes of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games returned to Moscow landing at Sheremetyevo airport. The Russian athletes were met by ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov, ROC Director General Vladimir Sengleev, honored guests, parents and fans who congratulated them on their historic success. The Russian Olympic team came first in the unofficial medal standings, winning 29 medals (10-11-8).
The Russian Olympic team took first place in the unofficial medal standings of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games. Our athletes won 29 medals – 10 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Switzerland came second with 24 medals (10-6-8), while Japan was placed third with 17 medals (9-7-1).
Today the scheduled meeting of the ANOC Executive Council took place in Lausanne at ANOC Headquarters. Stanislav Pozdnyakov was present at the meeting as the Chairman of the ANOC Culture and Education Commission.
Shortly before the opening ceremony of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games, the President of the ROC visited the Olympic village of Lausanne where many young athletes are staying. He held informal talks with young Russian athletes due to compete in the Games, their coaches and supervisors.
