Stanislav Pozdnyakov congratulated CSKA team members on taking the military oath
On November 11, CSKA team recruits took the Military oath. The ceremony was held at the Medals Plaza in the Sochi Olympic Park. The event was attended by the First Vice-President of the Russian Olympic Committee, four-time Olympic champion, Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
Two hundred and five athletes, representing 33 Olympic sports, were called up for military service in four sports troops, stationed in Balashikha (Moscow oblast), Saint-Petersburg, Samara and Sochi. Honored master of sports in Taekwondo, silver medalist of the Rio 2016 and bronze medalist of the London 2012 Alexey Denisenko was among the recruits.
State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General ща the Army Nikolai Pankov congratulated the CSKA team recruits on joining the army club.
– Today I have the opportunity to call you soldiers-athletes. You joined the famous CSKA club, which has no equal in the world. It is a great honor and responsibility. We will do everything to make your service and your professional sport practice comfortable, and successful. On my own behalf and on behalf of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Hero of Russia, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu I congratulate you on taking the oath, – said Nikolai Pankov, whose words are quoted by the CSKA official website.
First Vice-President of the ROC, Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Pozdnyakov also congratulated the army athletes on the beginning of a new stage of their lives and wished success on the sports field.
Sochi residents and guests could take part in master-classes in arm wrestling, crossfit, fencing, athletics, hockey and sport martial arts held within the ceremony at Olympic Park. They were given by famous army athletes, winners of European and World Championships and Olympic games.
