The ROC delegation inspected the Olympic Village of the Sochi coastal and mountain clusters
The delegation of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), headed by Vladimir Sengleev, the Executive Director, inspected the Olympic Villages in the coastal and mountain clusters of Sochi. The delegation members included the Executive Director and Igor Kazikov, the Director-Head of the Main department for assuring the participation in the Olympic sports events, Alexander Grushin, the Head of the Scientific Support Department, and Yevgeny Granov, Head of the Administrative Department.
During their visit to the capital of the XXII Olympic Winter Games the ROC representatives took a close look at the accommodations for the Russian Olympic teams in the three Olympic villages – one coastal and two in the mountains.
The coastal Olympic Village will accommodate hockey, figure skating, speed skating, short track speed skating and the curling teams. The mountain Village in “Rose Khutor” will house the alpine ski, snowboarding, bobsleigh and skeleton, freestyle ski, luge, ski jumping and Nordic combined teams. The cross-country ski and biathlon teams will be located in the Olympic mountain village of Laura.
In addition to the living conditions of the national team the ROC delegation together with the representatives of the ANO “Sochi-2014” and the Olympic village developers took a look at the additional rooms intended for rest, recreation, additional nutrition, mini-training and medical care.
The ROC representatives discussed the issues concerning the procedure of equipping all auxiliary rooms, as well as additional equipment and inventory that the ROC purchases to create the best possible conditions for the Russian Olympic team during their stay at the XXII Olympic Winter Games.
“With less than one hundred days to go until the Olympic Winter Games, the preparation has entered the final stages. Now, more than ever, we must use every effort to get everything done at the highest level by the time of the Olympic Games. I have no doubt that this is exactly the way it is going to be. In the these few days our delegation has visited the Olympic villages of the coastal and mountain clusters. It can be seen that much work has been done. Athletes from around the world will be able to evaluate the work done in the near future,”- said Igor Kazikov, the Director-Head of the Main department for assuring the participation in the Olympic sports events.
