Alexander Zhukov: “The contribution of rhythmic gymnastics to Russian sports achievements cannot be overstated”
President of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov congratulated the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and its President Irina Viner-Usmanova on the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Rhythmic Gymnastics:
“An Olympic sport, that was born in our country, has always pleased the audience with brilliant performances and big victories in all major international competitions.
The contribution of Rhythmic Gymnastics to Russian sports achievements cannot be overstated. In turn, all modern history of Rhythmic Gymnastics is inextricably linked with the name of Irina Viner, a person who enjoys a great reputation in the Olympic community and has no equal in terms of the amount of the awards, titles and trophies won.
Today our school is the strongest in the world, and I heartily wish the leaders, all the employees of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the International Academy of Irina Viner, the coaches and, of course, the athletes further success, brilliant victories and beautiful performances, that will bring joy and aesthetic pleasure to millions of sports fans from around the world.”
