A Workshop meeting with the heads of the regional councils and the Olympic Academies was held at the ROC
On Thursday, November 28, a Workshop meeting with the heads of the regional sports councils and the Olympic academies was held at the Russian Olympic Committee. In his welcoming speech the President of the ROC and the IOC member Alexander Zhukov said that the ROC was working hard on creating the new regional councils.
Thus, in 2013 15 new Russian Olympic councils appeared. On Friday , November 29 , at the Olympic meeting these new councils will be accepted as members of the ROC. Therefore, there will be 75 regional Olympic Councils . In addition, he noted that the regional Olympic (sports) councils will soon be created in 8 more regions – Amur , Vologda, Novgorod , Tambov and Tula regions , Primorsky and Chukchi Kray and the Republic of Tuva.
During the workshop meeting, the delegates heard the following reports:
- the report on the results of the All-Russian XXIV Olympic Day, delivered by the Head of the ROC Regional relations department Malyuga Michail;
- the report on “Some aspects of marketing activities of the regional (sports) councils for 2014-2016”, delivered by the ROC Marketing Director Dmitry Beliavsky;
- the report on “The activities of the ROC Assistance Council and the communication program on the support of the Russian Olympic team”, delivered by the Head of the ROC Assistance Council Oleg Rumyantsev as well as the reports of the Presidents of the Councils and the Olympic Academies on the situations on the grounds.
The heads of the regional councils and Olympic Academies received the diplomas for their contribution to the development of physical culture, sports and the Olympic movement. These diplomas commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the federal and regional executive bodies in the field of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation were presented by the President of the ROC Alexander Zhukov.
