Charity football match was held in Krasnoznamensk
A football team of the Olympic Champions of 1988 and a team of politicians and actors “Rosich-Starko” came onto the football pitch of the “Zarya” stadium. Deputy Executive Director of the ROC Andrey Selivanov greeted the famous football players on behalf of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
The friendly match dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet team at the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympic Games was organized by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), the Football Union of Russia, “Rosich” sports club under the Government of the Russian Federation and the pop stars football club “Starko”.
The organizers of the event managed to invite almost all members of the golden team. A joint team “Rosich-Stark” composed of Russian politicians and famous actors was their opponent. Andrey Selivanov, the Deputy Executive Director of the ROC, welcomed the participants of the match on behalf of the ROC. He also presented the legendary football players with ceremonial diplomas of the ROC.
The Star match ended in a draw (5:5). The final chords of the holiday were a concert performed by popular actors of the “Starko” team and a welcome reception in honor of the heroes of the 1988 Summer Olympics.
All funds raised by the football match, held in the framework of the charity event “Under the guise of good!” go to help children of Krasnoznamensk in need of costly medical care.
This charity event has already been held for nine years. During this time, football matches have been held in many cities of Russia. The result is that 2,446 children received help for a total amount of more than 260 million rubles.
The Action brings together prominent politicians, public figures, journalists, cinema and theater actors, Russian and foreign music artists, sports veterans, as well as hundreds of thousands of spectators. The chairman of the organizing committee of the Action is Alexander Zhukov, the President of the ROC.
