Alexander Gorshkov: “We are very glad that the decision on Ekaterina Bobrova’s issue was reasonable and fair”
Russian athletes were temporarily suspended from competition. And Figure Skating Federation of Russia President Alexander Gorshkov hopes for successful resolution of the meldonium situation. That is what Alexander Gorshkov said in his interview to the ROC Information Service, commenting on the lifting of the disqualification imposed on the Russian skater Ekaterina Bobrova.
“We are very glad that the decision of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Skating Union (ISU) on Ekaterina Bobrova’s issue was reasonable and fair. We were very worried about our figure skater. I hope that issues of all Russian athletes, temporarily suspended from competition because meldonium, will be resolved positively.”
On Sunday Ekaterina Bobrova announced that the International Skating Union has removed the temporary disqualification imposed on her due to positive doping test. We recall that Ekaterina Bobrova, performing with Dmitri Soloviev, was forced to miss the World Championships in Boston, USA.
