Football and Music Festival will be launched by Alexander Zhukov at the 2016 SPIEF
June 15 in Kolpino (Leningrad region) President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Alexander Zhukov will launch the “Art Football” football and music festival. It will be the first event of the XX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum’s (SPIEF) sports program.
The Football match between the team of artists “Rosich-Starco” and the St. Petersburg government team will become the central event of the Festival, held under the auspices of the Russian National charity action “Under the Flag of Kindness!”
“This is the story of how sport unites politicians, businessmen, artists in an effort to help seriously ill children to enjoy the game together with other like-minded people and, of course, to support the Russian football team, that will play a tough match against Slovakia at the Euro 2016 on that day. I think that despite their busy schedules most of the St. Petersburg Forum participants will follow the match of the national team, root for our team and wish it success.’
St. Petersburg Corporate Games will become the largest event of the SPIEF 2016 sports program. June 18 on the Olympic Day over a thousand of employees of commercial enterprises and government agencies will compete in 16 sports.
“It’s a great idea to hold Corporate Games on the Olympic Day. Mass sport development is one of the most urgent challenges faced by the Olympic Movement. The Russian Olympic Committee is implementing the school sports development program, and Corporate Games is a great format to promote sports among employees. I hope that it will be continued at the country’s other economic forums,” Alexander Zhukov said.
In addition, 2016 SPIEF sports program will include the SPIEF RACE through the historical places of St. Petersburg, as well as final matches and VIP tournaments in Football, Ice Hockey, Tennis and Table Tennis, Golf, Chess and Billiard. And on June 17 the panel discussion on ‘Sports Economics: the effective cooperation of the State, Media and Businesses’.
