The Russians performed well in the group stage. I hope that the play-off will also be a success for us and the team will have a chance to fight for victory at the home World Championships,” – said the president of the ROC.

In addition Alexander Zhukov congratulated the IIHF President on his reelection as Head of the International Ice Hockey Federation and noted that Novosibirsk was dreaming to hold a Youth World Championship.
‘May I take this opportunity to congratulate my friend René Fasel on his reelection as President of the International Ice Hockey Federation. This is a great event. In al previous years as Head of the IIHF René proved that under his leadership Ice Hockey is developing very successfully all over the world.
As for Novosibirsk, Ice Hockey is much appreciated there. It’s a real Ice Hockey city, which dreams to hold a Youth World Championship. They are ready to build a new Ice Hockey stadium for it. If René promises to do his best to give this chance to Novosibirsk, he will keep his word, I’m sure. On behalf of the whole of Siberia, I ask that the 2023 Youth World Championship is held there,’- said the ROC President.
