Russian Women’s Gymnastics team won Olympic license in the team all-around event

Russian gymnasts took second place in the team all-around qualification at the Glasgow (UK) World Championships and reached the final stage. Along the way Victoria Komova, Ksenia Afanasyeva, Seda Toutkhalian Maria Kharenkova, Darya Spiridonova and Maria Paseka won Olympic license for their country in this event.

Only the US team (236,611 points) managed to outrun the Russian women’s team (231,437 points). Third and fourth places were taken by the teams of Great Britain (227,162) and China (225,127). Medals in the women’s team all-around will be played on October 27.

Only one representative of Russia (16-year-old Seda Toutkhalian) will fight for world championships awards in the individual all-around event. She qualifyed for the final finishing in 7th place (56.599), 5 points behind the leader – American Simone Biles.

Maria Paseka, Ksenia Afanasyeva, Darya Spiridonova, Victoria Komova and Seda Toutkhalian won the right to perform in the final on particular apparatus. Maria Paseka (vault) came 2nd in qualifying, Ksenia Afanasyeva (floor exercise) came 4th, Darya Spiridonova (uneven bars) came 1st, Victoria Komova (uneven bars) came 2nd and she became 4th  in balance beam and Seda Toutkhalian (balance beam) came 5th.

Glasgow World Gymnastics Championships will end on November 1st.
