Luger Semen Pavlichenko became two-time European champion!
Today Russian luger Semen Pavlichenko won Gold medal at the European Championships, being held in Königssee, Germany. On aggregate of two tries he clocked a time of 1 minute and 38.363 seconds, having outrun the host of the track Ralf Palik (1.38,611) and Kindl Wolfgang, of Austria (1.38,823).
For a 25-year-old athlete from Bratsk this Gold of the continental championship was second in his career. Also Pavlichenko is the only world champion in the history of the Russian luge sport.
Another medal of the European Championships was won by Tatyana Ivanova, silver medalist of the 2014 Olympic Games. She was outran only by the two-time Olympic champion and five-time world champion Natalie Geisenberger of Germany.
