Russian Wheelchair Curling team won first place at the World Cup
On Friday in the town of Lohja Russian team – silver medalist of the Sochi Paralympic Games, composed of Andrei Smirnov, Marat Romanov, Oksana Slesarenko, Alexander Shevchenko and Svetlana Pahomova in the final match lost to the Chinese team 7:4.
Finns, the International Cup hosts, outran the team of Slovakia 8:5.
Thus the Russian team became two time world champion in this sport.
The Russian team won its first gold medals in 2012 in South Corea.
It should be noted that Wheelchair Curling is Curling for people with a mobility impairment. Teams may consist of both men and women.
The first International Wheelchair Curling Cup took place in 2002 in Switzerland and in 2006 it was added to the Paralympic Programme.
