Russians won three medals at the European Weightlifting Championships
Russian weightlifters won three more medals at the European Championships, which are now underway in Tel Aviv (Israel). On Tuesday, April 8, our athletes won three gold and one bronze medals.
Russia’s Tima Turieva, the current World Champion, won the European Championships in the women’s 63 kg category. She showed the result of 236 kg (105kg in the snatch and 131kg in the clean and jerk). The second place went to another representative of Russia Nadezhda Lomova – 233 (103+130). Yulia Kalina from Ukrain mounted the third step of the podium 228kg (103+125).
Russia’s Razmik Unanian won the bronze medal at the continental championships in the men’s 77 kg category – 344kg (152+192). Albanian Erkand Kerimay became the winner – 349kg (155+194), followed closely by his compatriot Daniel Godelli – 349 kg (157+192).
