Budapest joins 2024 Olympic bid race

National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Budapest, Hungary Budapest has announced its intention to bid to host the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. Budapest mayor, Istvan Tarlos, and Zsolt Borkai, head of the Hungarian Olympic Committee,  declared a wish to participate in the application and bidding process in a letter to Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee.

The deadline to submit bids is September 15. Budapest joins Boston (USA), Hamburg (Germany), Rome (Italy) and Paris (France) as the officially declared candidates.
