Delegation of the ROC visited Astana
On March 17, 2017 the Russian Olympic Committee delegation, headed by the General Director, Vladimir Sengleev, took part in the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Addressing congratulations to the Head of Kazakhstan’s NOC, Timur Kulibayev, Vladimir Sengleev pointed to the partnership and friendly relations that bind our countries, and also expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
‘The Russian Olympic Committee is ready to cooperate with colleagues from Kazakhstan. We are currently considering various options for holding the final stage of preparation of national teams for the 2018 Olympic Games. And one of these options is Kazakhstan. In addition, we have educational projects that can also be interesting to our colleagues.It is an Olympic educational program on the basis of the RIOU for training sports managers and a joint program with the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (RSUPESY&T) for retraining of coaching staff’, – said the general director of the ROC.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, Head of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the presidents of international sports federations – Julio Muglione (FINA), Klaus Schormann (UIPM), Francesco Ricci-Bitti (ASOIF), Tomas Ayan (IWF) and presidents and representatives of 15 National Olympic Committees came to congratulate Astana on a memorable date.
Within the framework of the jubilee events, the guests visited the Museum of the Library of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the largest sports venues – the ice palace Alau, the republican cycle track Sariarka, the multifunctional ice palace Barys-Arena.
The culmination of the festive events was a solemn evening at the Palace of Peace and Accord. Guests were presented with a premiere of a documentary about the activities of the National Olympic Committee of the country, the achievements of Kazakhstan’s sport and its important milestones.
The festivities ended with a big concert with the participation of Kazakhstan variety artists and sports stars.
