  • The President of the ROC expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of Alexey Paramonov, Soviet football player, 1956 Olympic champion, who passed away on Thursday night.

    Stanislav Pozdnyakov:

    – The whole era of national football and the Olympic movement is connected with the name of Alexey Paramonov. He was a legendary athlete and a true role model. Throughout his life, Alexey Alexandrovich remained faithful to the traditions of his club, the values of sports friendship, he passed on his knowledge and experience to younger generations, sincerely supported and cared about the success of Russian Football.

    In his sports career there were a lot of events and well-deserved awards. He was loved and respected by fans, appreciated by those he worked and shared football field with. He defended our country during the Great Patriotic War. Today he is gone. We cherish the memory of the outstanding athlete and extend our heartfelt condolences to the relatives of Alexey Alexandrovitch.
