The All-Russian sports and educational project “Olympic Patrol” of the Russian Olympic Committee continues its journey around the country. On March 17, Olympic Patrol was held in Izhevsk, the capital of the Udmurt Republic.

On February 8-9, Russia celebrated Winter Sports Day, dedicated to the anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. This sports festival is one of the key events of the ROC in terms of promoting the development of mass sports as part of the Olympic Country programme. It was held in almost all the regions across the country with the city of Voronezh becoming the main venue.

Today the heroes of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games returned to Moscow landing at Sheremetyevo airport. The Russian athletes were met by ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov, ROC Director General Vladimir Sengleev, honored guests, parents and fans who congratulated them on their historic success. The Russian Olympic team came first in the unofficial medal standings, winning 29 medals (10-11-8).

Olympic Patrol in Kaliningrad – Olympic champion presents a gift

On December 7, Kaliningrad’s Secondary School No. 57, the largest and most unique educational institution of the city in terms of architecture and technological equipment, hosted the scheduled stage of the Olympic Patrol project. Along with the Olympic Patrol team, supervisors of the event included Alexander Legkov, gold and silver medalist in cross-country skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics, as well as two well-known athletes from Kaliningrad – Alexei Shemarov, 2011 World Champion in freestyle wrestling and silver medalist at the 2015 European Games in Baku, and Dmitry Rozinkevich, bronze medalist in rowing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

The ROC Athletes’ Commission meets with representatives of the All-Russian Sports Federations

The first ever meeting of the ROC Athletes’ Commission with the representatives of the All-Russian Sports Federations took place today at the ROC Headquarters in Moscow. During the meeting, athletes received a great deal of useful information and had the chance to ask their own questions.

8th TAFISA World Games to be held in Nizhny Novgorod!

Nizhny Novgorod was announced as the host city for the 8th TAFISA World Games during the TAFISA General Assembly held in Tokyo on November 13-17. The amateur sports festival will be held in 2024 and for the first time ever the ROC will organize this large-scale sports event.

Around the world with the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee

The flag of the Russian Olympic Committee has set out on a round-the-world trip from Vladivostok on the training ship Pallada. The ship will cover a route of more than 27 thousand nautical miles and will visit nine ports in different foreign countries: Apia, Papeete, Valparaiso, Ushuaia, Cape Town, Port Louis, Singapore, Moiré and Nagasaki.
