Dear friends!
Today we celebrate the main national holiday of the Russian Federation on the day of the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the RSFSR. Our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought for independence and freedom in the Great Patriotic War.
Now we are once again going through serious trials. Nazism, extremism and an aggressive policy directed against our homeland – all these are challenges that require from our multinational people, first and foremost, unity and solidarity.
Fortitude, courage and readiness to solve problems of any complexity for the benefit of the Motherland and its interests are the key to the development and prosperity of Russia, which has always and at all times been famous for the true patriotism of its citizens.
Including those who linked their lives and fate with sports, bringing glory to our great power with their victories and medals and motivating future generations of athletes to new successes. Continuity and tradition play a huge role in this regard.
On behalf of the Russian Olympic Committee, I congratulate all compatriots on today’s holiday! I wish you all to remain devoted to the ideals and values of our country, to be worthy successors to the deeds of our ancestors and to be proud of the opportunity and the right to be Russians!
