  • President of the Russian Olympic Committee tells about the forthcoming sports festival, which will be celebrated throughout the country on July 1. The main venue in Moscow will be the Sokolniki Park.

    “The All-Russian Olympic Day is not only a unique opportunity to meet and communicate with Olympic champions, but also try yourself in different sports, Stanislav Pozdnyakov said. – Each participant will receive a wide variety of opportunities in order to have a good time at numerous sites in the Sokolniki Park.

    Both children and adults will have a chance to feel the atmosphere of the Olympic Games next to dozens of our famous athletes at special venues for different sports. The venues will be organized by our all-Russian sports federations. A lot of master classes, competitions and other activities using modern sports equipment.

    For instance, those who like bobsled, will have a chance to try a real bob, having previously received necessary instructions from our Olympic champions! If you want to shoot with a rifle, come to the biathlon court. Do you like basketball? Then do not forget to grab the sneakers and uniform.

    The program of the Olympic Day, which is dedicated to the III Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires this time, has no analogues in Russia. It is so broad and diverse that the feast will surely become the biggest sporting event of this summer in our country after the World Cup.

    By the way,   June 1 is the day when the Russian team will play with the Spanish team in the 1/8 finals. Our schedule is composed in such way that the fans, having received an energy and positive emptions boost on a Sunday morning in Sokolniki, will  go to Luzhniki or the fan zone to support our team in one of the most important matches in its history.
