  • ROC President commented on the decisions by the World Athletics (WA) Council on RusAF’s status.

    Stanislav Pozdnyakov:

    — The situation with RusAF remains quite complicated, but today’s decisions by the World Athletics Council is an opportunity to create a starting point for resuming substantive negotiations on all relevant issues.

I am sure that the letter from the Minister of Sport played an important role in moving RusAF towards the right path in order to overcome the crisis.

Right now, apart from the financial obligations, there are several new conditions that have to be worked out in a short period.

The results of today’s World Athletics Council meeting are also important in terms of defining further directions.

The Russian Olympic Committee, on its part, continues to conduct the necessary work and calls on all interested parties to combine their efforts for the effective development of Russian track-and-field athletics.
