  • Michael Degtyarev:

On behalf of the entire sporting community, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the incredible women on this International Women’s Day.

In Russia, women play a significant role in sports. Currently, around 33.5 million Russian women regularly participate in physical activities. Nearly 900,000 are engaged in professional sports training, and over 7,700 are members of Russia’s National Teams across Olympic sports.

Since 1992, 272 female athletes from Russia have become Olympic champions. In 2025 alone, our female athletes secured 24 world championship titles.

Women are shaping the future of the sports industry, not just on the competition floor. Over 190,000 women work as coaches, specialists, and managers within the sports system. Their contributions are in the achievements, the advancement of sports science, and the nurturing of the next generation of champions.

Wishing you a joyful holiday filled with faith, hope, and love!
