  • The Sport Leaders Awards 2019 ceremony took place in Moscow awarding and honoring the best projects in the field of sports. The Russian Olympic Committee won in the nomination “Our team is the entire country!” for its project – House of Fans of Team Russia. The House of Fans was once again successfully organized at the recent 2nd European Games in Minsk.

The awards ceremony took place as part of the Sport Leaders Global Forum, which brings together sports and business representatives on one platform. Representing the ROC at the ceremony was Roman Markov, Communications Director and Head of the Event Marketing and Communications Department.

    – Thank you very much for this prestigious award (all the winners received beautiful handmade plates produced by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, established in 1744, ed. note); this award will be dedicated to all the members of our large and friendly ROC team! The House of Fans of Team Russia makes the stay of Russian athletes and sports fans from different countries at major international events as comfortable as possible, as was the case at the Olympic Games in Sochi and Rio de Janeiro, and also the European Games in Baku and Minsk. Active work is underway to organize a similar House of Fans in Japan’s capital for the 2020 Olympic Games, – said Roman Markov.

The top 20 projects in sport over the past year and a half also included the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU), recognized as the “Best Educational Project”, and the Russian Olympic Committee’s Partner – Norilsk Nickel Mining and Metallurgical Company – won for its contribution to the 29th Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk.

    – We are very pleased that among the winners of the Sport Leaders Awards 2019 there are organizations with which the ROC has strong and productive relations. These organizations adore sports as much as we do, – added Roman Markov. – Let me remind you that the House of Fans of Team Russia is supported by the ROC General Sponsor – the global energy company Gazprom, the ROC General Partners – Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot and the official outfitter of Team Russia ZASPORT, as well as the ROC Partner – Norilsk Nickel Mining and Metallurgical Company.
