  • Today, member of the Executive Committee of the ROC, IOC member and President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev celebrates his anniversary. The team of the Russian Olympic Committee sincerely congratulates Shamil Anvyarovich on his birthday and wishes him good health, happiness, prosperity, good luck, success in work and, of course, new Olympic victories!

    He was awarded with high state awards for his contribution to the development of Russian tennis and the Olympic movement. These are the Order “For merit to the Fatherland” III and IV classes, the Order of Honour and the Order of Friendship, medal of the Order “For merit to the Fatherland” II class.

    Shamil Tarpishchev is the author of the following books: The Court is Calling (1988), Tennis. The First Steps (1990), ABC of Tennis (1999), The Longest Match (1999), Outstanding Seven, or Russia’s World Tennis Stars (2006), The First Set (2008).
