  • The Russian Olympic Committee considers this decision of the EOC Executive Committee to be unlawful, unreasonable, and discriminatory toward young Russian athletes. The Russian Olympic Committee was not given an opportunity to take part in the meeting of the EOC Executive Committee and to present its arguments on this issue. Moreover, we sent a letter to the EOC leadership, clearly stating our position, but no reply was received.

Thus, after exhausting all the opportunities for settling the dispute through the pre-trial process, in order to protect the rights and interests of Russian athletes, on 10 March 2022 the Russian Olympic Committee filed an appeal against the decision of the EOC Executive Committee dated 2 March 2022 to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The Russian Olympic Committee will provide information on the format and timing of the appeal at the CAS as well as other information regarding the case in due time.
