  • Rodion Plitukhin noted that the ROC, in close cooperation with the All-Russian Sports Federations responsible for Olympic sports, can assist in organizing compact training events in Russia for Sri Lankan athletes if necessary and if desired by the partner NOC.

    The Secretary General of the ROC cited as an example the members of the Eswatini boxing team, who are currently training in Russia.

    Rodion Plitukhin also spoke about the scholarship program for partner NOCs with subsequent training of their specialists at the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) under the Master of Sport Administration program.

    Mr. Maxwell de Silva, in turn, thanked the Russian Olympic Committee and its President Stanislav Pozdnyakov for their comprehensive support of the initiatives and projects of NOC Sri Lanka and the desire to maintain the integrity of the international Olympic movement, despite adverse external factors.

    Both sides expressed their mutual desire to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the very near future to strengthen and systematize further cooperation between the NOCs of Russia and Sri Lanka in the sports and humanitarian spheres.
