  • Today the President of the Russian Olympic Committee held a working meeting with Mikhail Nelyubin, Director General of Vedomosti. The main result was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation.

    Stanislav Pozdnyakov:

    — Cooperation in the information sphere with leading Russian media outlets is an important area of our activity. The ROC has always respected the difficult and responsible work of journalists and acknowledged the importance of objectivity in the modern world, as well as professionalism and efficiency when covering events, especially in sport.

The memorandum that we signed with Vedomosti is sure to expand the capabilities of the Russian Olympic Committee to provide information support to our Olympic team, Russian Olympic athletes and the All-Russian Sports Federations. As for Vedomosti, this will become a new impetus for developing the sports direction as part of its editorial policy.

    Mikhail Nelyubin:

    — The Olympic Games are extremely popular all over the world. For athletes, this is the pinnacle of their careers; for countries, it’s a great way to defend their prestige and authority in the field of sport.

As one of the leading business media organizations in Russia, sport is one of the important thematic areas for us. It’s worth mentioning that we publish a special edition — Vedomosti.Sport.

In view of today’s meeting, I am convinced that Vedomosti will act as a worthy platform for informing Russian and international audiences about issues related to the development of the Olympic movement and the activities of the ROC.

I am sure that our cooperation will be long-term and productive, and I hope that due to such cooperation, we will soon be able to witness the fully-functional return of Russia to the Olympic arena. I hope it will be triumphant.
