More than 5,000 people took part in the 2nd All-Kuzbass Chess day
Andrey Selivanov, Deputy Executive Director of the Russian Olympic Committee, visited Novokuznetsk and Prokopyevsk at the invitation of Dmitry Islamov, the Deputy Governor of the Kemerovo Region, the President of the regional Olympic Council. He took part in the events of the 2nd All-Kuzbass Chess day. This year regional chess event, organized at the initiative of the Kemerovo region Governor Aman Tuleyev, was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the region. More than 5000 participants took part in the event. “I think, – noted A. Selivanov, – that such activities are necessary to stir up the public, attract the attention of authorities, sponsors and mass media. They are very important.”
During his working trip Deputy Executive Director of the ROC had meetings with the sporting community and the administration of the Kuzbass cities. Also he has visited the sport venues. In Prokopyevsk he has visited the ice palace and the football stadium. In Novokuznetsk he has visited city tennis center, which is unparalleled in its size and infrastructure in the Ural, Siberia and in the Far East.
