Biathlete Yevgeniy Garanichev is now two-time European champion 2016

Russian biathlete Yevgeniy Garanichev won the Sprint at the European Championships in Tyumen. The athlete missed two targets in the Sprint Race with two shooting stages and finished first with a time of 23 minutes 40.3 seconds. Second place went to Norway’s Henrik Lund-l’Abbaye (5.2 seconds behind Yevgeny Garanichev, 0 misses) and another Russian Anton Babikov became third  (9.7 seconds behind, 0 misses).

This was the second gold medal won by Eugeniy Garanichev at the home European Championship. The day before he had helped the Russian team win  the Mixed Relay.
