  • Our skaters Evgenia Medvedeva, Alina Zagitova, Evgenia Tarasova / Vladimir Morozov, Natalia Zabiaco / Alexander Enbert, Ekaterina Bobrova / Dmitri Soloviev and Mikhail Kolyada won the silver medal of the 2018 Game in the team event.

“It would be correct to say that each of us left a part of his soul in this team competition. Each  performance is a small life that we live. Yes, it doesn’t always work out well, but each of us left a part of himself, and it gave the result”, said Evgenia Medvedeva, who set a world record in the short program.

Dmitry Solovyov told how the team reacted to the unsuccessful performance of Mikhail Kolyada in the short program: “We knew that we could not come and show that we were upset, to show the pressure. We tried to talk about other things, wanted to distract Misha, so that he could get tuned up for the free program and showed what he could do. Because excitement is natural for any athlete.”

Evgenia Tarasova expressed hope that the gained experience will help to perform successfully in personal competitions: “Thanks for the opportunity to present a short program twice at the Olympic ice in Korea. For me and Volodya Morozov performance in the team tournament is an invaluable experience, which we hope will help us in personal competitions.”

Captain of the figure skaters Ekaterina Bobrova expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the plane crash near Moscow.

“On behalf of the whole team, I want to express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the plane crash. This is a great grief for our whole country. On the background of the tragedy pales all around. Knowing about it, we tried to perform as good  as it was possible today”.
