  • Representatives of the All-Russian Swimming Federation will take part in a pilot educational project of the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU), aimed at improving the skills of coaches and specialists of all-Russian sports federations.

The project, which starts this year, will also involve the federations of athletics, speed skating and cross-country skiing.

Students will be chosen by the All-Russian Swimming Federation and this summer, along with lectures, they will also have practical lessons. They will be held in the Swimming Center in Volgograd, led by Honored Coach of the USSR and Russia Viktor Avdienko. According to the President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, Vladimir Salnikov, the inclusion of swimmers in the new educational project of ROC is the best assessment of the work done by the federation.

    – It is good that now we will train our coaches together with the Russian Olympic Committee, – said Vladimir Salnikov. – Combining the efforts of two organizations will expand the geography of the students and bring the Olympic education to a whole new level.

The swimming center will be an excellent platform for sharing knowledge that is necessary not only for young professionals, but also for those who want to enrich their already solid coaching experience.

Employees of the integrated research team and well-deserved coaches who have worked for many years in the national team will be involved in conducting classes. I want to note that we closely monitor and actively participate in the development of methods for assessing the performance of athletes and their training activities.

In the future, foreign specialists will be invited to participate in the joint program with ROC. However, at the moment there is no urgent need for them: our swimmers and coaches are among the best not only in Europe but also in the world. Russian specialists, in my opinion, have broader knowledge and capabilities than some of their foreign colleagues who could have been appointed as lecturers.
