Today, August 21, within the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Committee meeting held in Beijing (China) it was decided to bestow the IOC’s highest award – the Gold Olympic Order upon the IOC member, Honorary President of the Russian Olympic Committee Vitaliy Smirnov, for particularly distinguished contributions to the Olympic Movement.
