Thomas Bach confident in the success of the Olympic Games in Sochi

The organizers of the Winter Olympics in Sochi “still have much to do in the field of infrastructure , accommodation and other issues”, said Thomas Bach,  the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC ) on Tuesday at the end of the Executive Committee meeting. This meeting, held  in Lausanne,  was his first meeting as head of the IOC.

“There is still work to be done concerning the accommodation issues, concerning some stadiums and the infrastructure. This is what we have on the one hand. On the other hand, we are confident that everything will be ready on time , because we see a lot of progress made by the organizing committee and our Russian colleagues”.

According to the president of the IOC, before the Olympics “the preparation is going very well”. “We are confident that everything will be at an adequate level and we will have a great playground for the best athletes in the world – said Bach . – We can see that the organizing committee as well as all levels power have serious intentions for the success of the Games. And this is the key to solving problems”.

The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC ) Thomas Bach does not consider the budget for the organization of the Olympic Games in Sochi excessive. He believes that the Games will be held at the highest level. “It is far from being excessive, and is within the budget for the organization of the other Olympics”, – he said.

“We are sure that everything will be at an adequate level and we will have a great playground for the world’s best athletes – said Bach . – We can see that the organizing committee as well as all levels power have serious intentions for the success of the Games.”
