In the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 14th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival has been launched. The opening ceremony was held at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Olympic stadium and generated enormous excitement in Sarajevo.

On 9 February in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, an opening ceremony of the 1st Children of Asia International Winter Games will be held at the Spartak stadium with support from the IOC, the Olympic Council of Asia, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Russian Olympic Committee.
At the ISSF General Assembly held today in Munich, the President of the organization was elected. Following the outcome of the vote of 159 members of the ISSF present at the Assembly, Vladimir Lisin, Head of the Russian Shooting Union, won the elections. He beat his main rival Luciano Rossi from Italy and for the first time in the history of the Russian shooting sport chaired the international federation.
Representatives of 36 NOCs discussed preparations for the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival in Sarajevo19 November 2018
In Sarajevo, a seminar was held with the participation of the heads of delegations of NOCs, that will take part in the XIV European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOF) from February 9 to 16, 2019.
On November 10, the 47th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) ended in Marbella, Spain. The delegation of the Russian Olympic Committee headed by President Stanislav Pozdnyakov took an active part in its work.
From June 21 to 30, 2019 the II European Games will be held in Minsk. The best athletes of the continent from 50 countries will compete for medals in 19 sports (Basketball 3×3, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Beach Soccer, Boxing, Kayaking and Canoeing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Acrobatics, Aerobics, Trampolining, Judo, Karate, Sambo, Shooting, Table Tennis, Wrestling). In 10 of them the competition will serve as qualifier for the XXXII Summer Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo.
16-30 June 2018, at the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in Ancient Olympia (Greece) the 58th International Session was held. It was attended by more than 180 young people from 90 countries. Russia was represented by Guzel Aktuganova (Volga Olympic Academy) and Ekaterina Gorokhova (Olympic Academy of the South).
The International Olympic Committee Executive Board endorsed the schedule of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The programme includes 33 sports and 339 events.
The IOC Executive Bard confirmed the list of candidates for the IV Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2022. It includes Botswana, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia.
The IOC Executive Board meeting has announced that seven new competitions will join the Winter Olympic programme for Beijing 2022. Herewith several new team competitions, both men’s and women’s, will be added at once.
