The President of the Russian Olympic Committee congratulated sports enthusiasts and devotees of a healthy lifestyle in Russia on one of the main sports festivals of the year.
Representatives of the All-Russian Swimming Federation will take part in a pilot educational project of the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU), aimed at improving the skills of coaches and specialists of all-Russian sports federations.
Winter Sports Day held on February 10 in Gorky Park presented the guests with many interesting master classes, autograph sessions with Olympic champions and competitions with prizes and gifts from the partners of the Russian Olympic Committee.
The President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, launched Winter Sports Day in Moscow and visited the master classes of Olympic champions and the stands of the All-Russian federations in the winter sports Pavilion.
On February 10 Russia celebrated Winter Sports Day. In a short period of time, this festival has managed to become one of the most popular sports mass events in the country. About two million people take part in it every year. This year, the celebrations were timed to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the 2014 Games in Sochi and the anniversary of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
On February 10 the Russian Olympic Committee organized Winter Sports Day. Since 2015, this holiday has traditionally taken place throughout the country on the first weekend after the starting date of the 2014 Games in Sochi. This year, the main site in Moscow was Gorky Park.
Pursuant to the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin following the meeting of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on the Development of Physical Education and Sports, held on March 24, 2014, the Russian Olympic Committee developed the Olympic Country Development Assistance Program, guided by the Olympic Charter, according to which, one of the tasks of National Olympic Committees is to promote the development of mass sports, and also within the framework of the international movement ″Sport for All″.
Every June, the Russian Olympic Committee holds the All-Russian Olympic Day, which is dedicated to the main state or sporting events of the year.
In order to popularize the ideas of Olympism among the younger generation and involve children and young people in systematic physical education and sports, the Russian Olympic Committee, after the Olympic Games in Sochi, launched a new sports and educational project Olympic Patrol, which is part of the Olympic Country program.
