  • ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov has been elected as the Chair of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Education and Culture Commission and has become an ex-officio member of the Executive Council of the umbrella organization at the ANOC General Assembly in Tokyo.

    The ROC’s experience in the implementation of major targeted projects has been recognized effective and promising for its future use on the global arena in cooperation between the Olympic organizations and National Olympic Committees (NOCs).

    It primarily means the larger integration of interested foreign colleagues into the educational programs of the Russian International Olympic University as well as diversified cooperation with the IOC Olympic Solidarity as part of programs that unite the values of sport, education, and culture

    The first meeting of the new composition of the ANOC Executive Council will take place on 21 January next year in Lausanne.

    On June 3rd, Vyborg hosted the opening of the IX World Games of Young Compatriots and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. The large-scale competitions will feature around 450 athletes aged 14-18 from 35 countries.
