  • The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of NOC Uzbekistan Oybek Kasimov, Advisor to the Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Avaz Karimov, as well as veterans of Uzbek sport.

    Both sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as prospects for further cooperation between the two countries. An exchange of views took place on implementing various projects, including the holding of joint training camps of Russian and Uzbek teams in various sports.

    At the end of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Council of Sports Veterans of Uzbekistan and the Russian Union of Athletes. The participants agreed to organize events with the participation of sports veterans from both countries.

    On June 3rd, Vyborg hosted the opening of the IX World Games of Young Compatriots and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. The large-scale competitions will feature around 450 athletes aged 14-18 from 35 countries.
