July continues to be eventful for the Russian Olympic Committee – two interesting but very different projects have been launched on social media platforms.
We have a large number of sporting families
The first project was a contest organized together with the official outfitter of the Russian Olympic team ZASPORT. It was held as part of the Olympic Country programme for the development of mass sports. All those wishing to participate were invited. From June 17 to July 5, contestants had to post photos and videos made during family workouts, outdoor exercises and joint sports games on social media.
Photos and videos had to be posted on Instagram, Vkontakte or Facebook, indicating the hashtag #SEMYAZASPORT and tagging the official accounts of the ROC, ZASPORT and the project’s information partner “OK!” magazine. At the same time, the quality of the photos (videos) did not play a major role – the impartial members of the jury, first and foremost, evaluated the originality and creative component of the photos and videos.
The star jury included the chief designer and founder of ZASPORT Anastasia Zadorina, ROC sports director Andrey Konokotin, editor-in-chief of “OK!” magazine Denis Kazmin, and our renowned athletes – two-time Olympic champions in figure skating Tatyana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov, three-time world champion in artistic gymnastics Artur Dalaloyan and Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Ulyana Donskova. After reviewing more than five hundred works, they awarded first place to the Kostandovs from Chelyabinsk. The main prize was a set of ZASPORT sportswear for all family members.
– Looking through the photos and videos of the participants of the contest, I was sincerely glad that we have so many sporting families, – said Anastasia Zadorina. – Together they do exercises, dance, do push-ups, work out in open areas, play soccer, tennis, badminton and so on. And a family from Chelyabinsk became the winners of our contest. The Kostandov couple have three children, at the same time leading an active lifestyle and regularly conducting home workouts and recording each moment on video. Very soon they will conduct their workouts in new ZASPORT outfits! I was fascinated by their jumping technique with skipping ropes, and I am even thinking of taking lessons myself.
The project attained its main goal
In addition, the top ten finalists were presented with the mascots of the Russian Olympic team while a special prize from the head of the ROC, four-time Olympic champion in fencing Stanislav Pozdnyakov – a bicycle and a soccer ball – went to the Fedorov family.
– This project has attained its main goal by uniting numerous families from various regions of our large country in an effort to spend their free time actively and improve their health, – noted Stanislav Pozdnyakov. – Participants of the contest demonstrated not only their excellent physical shape, but also a creative approach to workouts, exercises and organizing family leisure. I am convinced that all the photos and videos posted as part of the contest received the best assessment. They will become a clear example of how people can and should stay active leading a healthy lifestyle along with all family members regardless of circumstances.
Furthermore, the ROC launched a special digital project on social media last week to recreate the main events, atmosphere and features of the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The date (July 19) was chosen to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Games – on July 19, 1980, the Games of the XXII Olympiad kicked off in Moscow. Decades later, they remain one of the most significant sporting events in the history of our country. Many memories, amazing facts and unique stories are associated with this landmark event.
For two weeks, the Russian Olympic Committee will talk about the 1980 Moscow Olympics on social media as if they were taking place now. From July 19 to August 3, you will be able to see a large number of exclusive photos, videos and live broadcasts on ROC’s social media accounts aimed at recreating the atmosphere of those days and taking us back to the summer of 1980. Participants and spectators of those Games will share their memories to mark the occasion.
