  • Rector of the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) Lev Belousov was elected as a full member of the Russian Academy of Education (RAO) and became an Academician of the Academy.

    Being a respected and internationally renowned scientist, Lev Belousov is an Honoured Professor at Moscow University and a member of the Council of Foreign and Defense Policy of Russia. Since September 28, 2018, he has been the acting Dean of the Faculty of History at Moscow State University.

    The academic career of Lev Belousov has brought him the Medal of the Order ″For Merit to the Fatherland″ 1 Class – for outstanding achievements in creating the Russian International Olympic University, as well as the Peter Lesgaft Medal for merits in sports science and education.

    By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Lev Belousov was awarded the title “Honoured Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation”, and he also has honorary badges “For merits in the development of the Olympic movement in Russia.”

    Under the leadership of Lev Belousov, the flagship program ″Master of Sports Administration″ was created at the Russian International Olympic University – one of the best in the market of sports business education. This is evidenced by the high assessment of experts and widespread international recognition: for the second year in a row, the MSA program comes second in the ranking of the influential British magazine Sport Business International among similar sports business programs in Europe and is among the top ten in the world.

    RIOU has earned a lot of respect in the Olympic community and is one of the leading universities not only in Russia, but also in the world. First and foremost, this is thanks to Professor Lev Belousov.

    Lev Belousov’s work as Rector of RIOU deserves the kindest words. We see how the university, which has become the legacy of the Olympic Games in Sochi, is dynamically developing, and how many new and interesting educational programs for athletes and sports professionals are appearing every year in the curriculum.

    I sincerely congratulate Lev Belousov on the honorary title of Academician of the Russian Academy of Education! I wish him good health and further success in his work, as well as stability and prosperity for his creation – the Russian International Olympic University!

    Michael Degtyarev: «The competitions in Vyborg and the International Forum of Young Olympians promise to be a true celebration of sports and friendship»

    On June 3rd, Vyborg hosted the opening of the IX World Games of Young Compatriots and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. The large-scale competitions will feature around 450 athletes aged 14-18 from 35 countries.
